Hook-Ups: defined
The group and relationships you build here will be a great resource if used wisely. To help get these relationships started we have a thing called group Hook-Ups.
When you see Hook-Ups in an email announcement or post, it means we’ve got something for you that’s been donated to the group like free stuff, discounted tickets, VIP access to an event, special perks and opportunities and other cool stuff. You are welcome to take advantage of it or leave it. No big deal.
This is just one exclusive benefit to being a member. Hook-Ups are also a great way for you to share your brand, service or access to cool stuff with members by way of an in-kind donation or other in no-pressure way to get on the radar. We’ll help you get noticed and members get stuff. Everybody wins!
What Hook-Ups ARE NOT:
- · NOT a cheesy way to trick you into some scheme
- · NOT SPAM or other annoying solicitation
- · NOT a way to capture your name, address and email only to have it resold to a telemarketer
- · NOT a dating service announcement or romantic rendezvous invite
- · NOT a fastener or device to attach surfboards, snowboards or any kind of equipment to your car or bike
- · NOT an obligation or promise that you will do something in return
Hook-Ups flow naturally as group members feel generous and opportunities to share arise. We would encourage every member to look for chances to share (if only a limited amount) with the group.
IMPORTANT: If you have Hook-Ups and you’d like to share please let us know. We will distribute them appropriately as members let us know they want it. AGAIN, PLEASE DON’T TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO ANNOUNCE YOUR OWN HOOK-UPS TO THE GROUP. Be respectful of members’ time and energy and let us do the offering in your name. Hook-Ups can be delivered from “Our friends at [your company]” or be anonymous. Either way is cool with us.
There are also event sponsorship opportunities (like the ‘board meeting’ in the snow this winter). Sponsorship, like Hook-Ups, is a great way to get noticed and promote your brand or service without the annoying direct selling and tears from rejection. So we look forward to hearing from you if you’d like to be a partial or full sponsor the many events throughout the year.
